Blueprint

Design before you build.

Blueprint is a design and specification platform developed by OptiFyne. It gives teams a structured way to design screens, data, workflows and requirements before committing to a build. It is designed for organisations that need to get the design right before committing development effort to platforms such as Nintex K2, Microsoft Power Platform and ServiceNow.

Blueprint is currently in development and is not yet generally available. Register your interest below and we will keep you informed as release plans are confirmed.

The Problem

Most automation problems are design problems

Too many workflow and application projects start building before the design is understood. Screens are sketched in slide decks, data structures live in spreadsheets, requirements sit in email threads - and the connections between them are lost before the first sprint ends.

Blueprint brings those activities into a single, connected design environment. What you design in Blueprint carries through to specification, requirements, user stories and testing - so the thing that gets built is the thing that was actually designed.

Capabilities

One environment for the whole design phase

Announced capabilities for Blueprint's initial release, as shared in OptiFyne's public product announcement.

Screen and form design

Lay out screens, forms and user-facing components with a structured designer rather than sketching in documents or building blind.

Data modelling

Define entities, fields and relationships so the data shape of a solution is agreed before implementation begins.

Workflow and process modelling

Model processes, stages and transitions visually, making business logic explicit rather than implied.

Requirements management

Capture, structure and manage requirements in one place, linked to the designs they relate to.

User stories and acceptance criteria

Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria so development teams know exactly what done looks like.

Requirements-to-testing traceability

Trace each requirement through design into testing, so coverage is visible rather than assumed.

Risk, change and governance

Track risks, manage change and apply governance controls around a design as it evolves.

RACI and stakeholder collaboration

Assign responsibility, accountability and review roles so the right stakeholders are involved at the right points.

Platform-aware specification

Produce specifications that are aware of the target platform - including Nintex K2, Microsoft Power Platform and ServiceNow - rather than generic documents.

Platform-Aware

Specifications that know where they're going

Blueprint produces specifications aware of the platform you intend to build on - not generic documents that lose meaning in translation.

Nintex K2

Specifications informed by K2 concepts such as forms, workflows and SmartObjects.

Microsoft Power Platform

Designs that map to Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse structures.

ServiceNow

Requirement and workflow specifications aligned to ServiceNow delivery patterns.

Deployment

Built for controlled environments

Announced deployment models. Availability of each model will be confirmed as release plans are finalised.

Private cloud

Planned

A dedicated deployment for organisations that need isolation, control and alignment with internal security requirements.

On-premise

Planned

Deployment within your own environment for organisations with strict data residency or network constraints.

Managed SaaS

Roadmap

A fully managed hosted offering is on the roadmap, but is not part of the initial release.

The private-cloud and on-premise deployment models described above are announced plans, not generally available options. A fully managed SaaS offering is on the longer-term roadmap.

How It Fits

A product from a consultancy that designs before it builds

Blueprint is a proprietary OptiFyne software product, separate from our consultancy services. It is currently in development and is not yet generally available. Our consultancy work - Power Platform delivery, K2 modernisation and enterprise integration - remains a separate, services-led offering.

The two are deliberately related: Blueprint reflects the same design-first discipline our consultants apply on client engagements. Teams that adopt Blueprint can still engage OptiFyne for delivery, and clients who work with our consultants can use Blueprint outputs to keep their design artefacts after an engagement ends.
